This is such an overdue post, but better late than never!

In December I was asked to do a photo shoot with Brite Bar Beauty. We met at Chimjes Dallas with about 15 or so Dallas bloggers. Chimjes is so cool! They have multiple rooms that are decorated in themes such as Paris, New York, Barcelona, etc. I took a couple pictures in the Paris room. They did our hair and makeup, we had a couple drinks and shot a couple different looks. It was so much fun! I moved to Dallas in August so I don’t know that many people. It was so nice to make some new friends! I can’t wait to see who else I meet and what other opportunities I receive through events & blogging.

2019!

Oh hey, 2019!

I always say, “it’s a new year & it’s time for change” but never really strive to do so. This year I wanted to set some goals and reflect on my past year. I have been feeling a little down lately and not so much myself. I want to do more, find my purpose, and be happier in the upcoming year.

A few of my goals for 2019

  1. More self care. I feel like this helps everyone feel a little better about themselves. When you feel good about yourself, it helps you to keep striving to be the best version of yourself.
  2. Eat healthier & workout 5x a week. This is a typical New Year’s goal, but I really need this is my life. I have tried the Keto diet and I think I’m going to do it again. I’m going to try to not give up for 21 days. I also want to do 100 push-ups a week and work up to 100 a day. [I’m so out of shape #yikes]
  3. Worry less & Be happier. I am such a worrier. I let stuff get to me and sometimes allow certain things to ruin my day. I want less conflict, stress, and worry in 2019. I want to take a step back and think before I start to lose myself in things that are irrelevant.
  4. Grow closer to God. I want to pray more, read more, and turn to Him about my problems rather than my friends all the time. I also want to be better about thanking Him for all the good He blesses me with daily.
  5. Positivity. I need to be a more positive person and surround myself with like minded people.
  6. Work on my attitude and hiding my emotions. I wear my heart on my sleeve. It can be a good and bad thing. When I’m sad, mad, or happy you’re going to know bc I simply can’t hide it. The saying, “fake it until you make it” needs a little more attention this year.
  7. Figure out what I want in life. I want to find a career I love. I want to find my purpose. I want to live up to my potential. I want to be all happy!
  8. Trust. I have the hardest time trusting others. I have always had an issue with this.
  9. Tan. This isn’t a goal, but I know you all saw these pictures and thought “oh wow she needs some fake & bake!”

SO- reading that back, it sounds a tad bit depressing… But I have a lot of goals to better myself in the new year and I hope to do so!

What are your New Year goals?

I’m Back Y’all!

IMG_9831 2IMG_9920IMG_9925IMG_9921IMG_9924IMG_9923IMG_9922Sweater: Forever 21 Jeans: Nordstrom Booties: Kendall & Kylie, similar Belt: Gucci Bracelet: Amazon, David Yurman Earrings: Kendra Scott Purse: LV

Hey guys!

I know it’s been about 10 years (or so it feels) since y’all have heard from me. Life gets crazy sometimes, ya know? But I’m here to fill y’all in a bit and get back to it!

I graduated college in May and decided to move to Dallas, Texas in August. To be honest, I was so excited to graduate college and start working. My family didn’t want me to move, but I insisted I be independent. I was ready to start a career, do adult things, figure out my life.. ya know like most people plan to do after college. I’m here to tell ya it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. If you’re still in school, stay there forever. Jk, well kinda, but yeah don’t rush it. I have learned so much in the last couple of months living in a big city. I took a step outside of my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I did.

I got busy and put blogging on the back burner. After taking such a big break, I started to miss it. I don’t want to give up something I enjoy. That is just another little thing I learned recently. I have had plenty of time to reflect on my life and caught myself in a lot of deep thought. Am I really just supposed to work for the rest of my life? Like what? What am I going to do? I don’t want to work a miserable job for 30 years. That sounds horrible?? All the works and I’m just not about it. I think I have said, “working just isn’t for me” about a thousand times and I’ve only been working for three months. Tragic, I know. But it’s because I don’t like what I’m doing. 9/10 people aren’t going to like their first job out of college. I need experience to get where I want to be. I may not know exactly what that is yet, but I’m working towards finding out that answer. It is what it is and it’s molding me into who I am. I truly believe you have to make your own mistakes to know exactly what you do want.

I took a job as an Energy Broker and I’ll just go ahead and say, it’s not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I am also doing some Marketing to grow a fashion brand out of New York. It is a luxury brand full of cashmere, luggage, purses, & more. I can’t spill all the details now, but I will with time so stay tuned! I am so excited about this one and what it will bring. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and love fashion, makeup and all the things so why not put it to good use!

My Experience with Shein

IMG_6963

Hey babes!

I wanted to share all about my experience with Shein with you guys today! I’ve recieved a lot of questions about if purchasing from them is worth it. Everyone immediately doubts if they are a ‘real’ site or not just by seeing all the really low prices. They have SO many items on their website and all things trending, too!

Pricing: Like I said above, the prices are crazy low. This is because they are knock-off items made with cheaper material. Some are amazing steals and others aren’t worth spending a $1 for. It’s really about choosing the right items, reading reviews, and taking a little chance. A lot of the items that are more expensive on the site like $18-$38 range, sometimes do seem to be the more higher quality. Mostly bc they are thicker material items like sweaters, fur vests, etc. So don’t be afraid to order something that is in that price range.

Quality: The saying, “You get what you pay for” isn’t always right with Shein. I ordered this top in my last order and it was not the best quality and also not cute on me at all. I don’t recommend. However, I got a knockoff Nordstrom sweater for $18… not a soul could tell it was different. The more you order from Shein, the more you can tell what’s going to be better quality or not. For the most part, all of my items have held up!

Sizing: Mostly everything has fit me true to size. I have only had one experience where a dress I ordered was really big and boxy. I order an XS is just about everything on Shein.

Shipping: They offer free express shipping on orders over $99. I did this on my last order and it was so worth it! I received it within 5 days. Shein always offers new deals about standard shipping, the good thing is it’s usually always free. If you aren’t placing a big order and choose standard shipping if may take 10 days or so. They are based out of China so it does take longer than your normal delivery.

Returns: I have returned a couple things to Shein that were poor quality. Under the “My Orders” tab on the website there is a link beside the items you have purchased to return. It gives you a shipping label to send back what you don’t want. It’s super easy, so don’t be afraid to purchase something you want wondering if it’s worth it or not. If it isn’t good or you don’t like it, just send it back using the return label!

I was nervous about this dress with it being white, but it’s a cotton material and so comfy! Good quality, worth the purchase for $13!!

Valentine’s Day with JORD + Giveaway

IMG_6392IMG_6381IMG_6382IMG_6379IMG_6394IMG_6380IMG_6390IMG_6401IMG_6408IMG_6405IMG_6407IMG_6383IMG_6391Top: Calvin Klein Jeans: Articles of Society Shoes: Marc Fisher Earrings: Kendra Scott Watch: JORD Bracelet: Hermes Bracelet: David Yurman

Have you got your significant other a gift for Valentine’s Day yet? The clock is ticking and now you can count down with your new time piece!

When was the last time you went somewhere without a watch on? I don’t remember a day when I haven’t had one on. Even when I go to the gym I have my Apple Watch on. But a JORD watch is more than just a watch. It has meaning behind the brand and that’s just one of the reasons I love them!

My first thought when JORD reached out to me was, “Do I really want to wear a wood watch? Is that boyish? Maybe I’ll just stick to my gold & silver watches.” I was wrong! They are so much more than just a wood watch. These watches are so unique! They are so lightweight, splash proof, and the clasp is easy to maneuver as well. You also have access to a measuring tool online to print off and measure your wrist so that the watch will come perfectly fitted for your wrist.

JORD watches are hand-crafted wood timepieces. They are made with a couple different  types of wood such as acacia, bamboo, and maple. I was so impressed with how much time and effort went into the packaging. When I received my watch in the mail I was so excited! The watch box is so gorgeous & something I will always keep on display. Another great thing about JORD is that all timepieces on JORD’s website can be engraved with any name or special message you would like. Another reason why this is such a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day!

They have both a women’s and men’s shop. SO girls– not only can you get yourself a gift, you can get your man one too 😉

JORD has been so generous to do a giveaway for my readers! One lucky Simplicity & Moore reader will receive a $100 off code! Plus, anyone who enters the giveaway will receive a 10% off code just for entering! Don’t miss out– it’s so worth it!

*Enter the Giveaway HERE*

“The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time.”

Good luck loves!

Cheetah Hat in NM

Day 3 in Red River, New Mexico & we are having so much fun! We have done a lot of eating and a lot of exploring… what else do you do on vacation?! Oh and drank a lot of coffee! #noshame Tonight we went to the Torch Light Parade at the ski resort. It’s always a fun thing to do at night since it get dark around 3:30-4:00 bc the sun gets behind the mountains. The parade only lasts about 10 minutes, but worth freezing with hundreds of other people to watch! They shoot off fireworks and about 50 people ski down with lit up skies, gear, and glow sticks! If you’re ever in Red River during New Years it’s for sure something to attend. There is also another one tomorrow that we’re going to for NYE!

I have gone skiing almost every year since I was about 6 or 7 and I love it. We’ve always gone to Red River. I like coming here rather than trying a new resort bc I know the way around the mountain. If you follow my blog you will come to know I like what’s familiar and it’s harder for me to try new things. It’s always how I’ve been! Maybe one day I will branch out and try Colorado 😉

I wore this outfit today for our little adventure. I’m not going to lie my hat is a girls, but I couldn’t resist! It was so cute– so I caved and purchased. Also, I have a small head… My seven year old brother has the same head size as me. It kinda makes me sad?? Does that make me not as smart? Haha! These OTK boots are one of my fave purchase of 2017. I have skinnier legs so it’s hard to find OTK boots that stay up on my legs but these do! They are currently 40% off. Worth the buy!

I hope everyone has a great NYE weekend and stays safe!!
