This is such an overdue post, but better late than never!

In December I was asked to do a photo shoot with Brite Bar Beauty. We met at Chimjes Dallas with about 15 or so Dallas bloggers. Chimjes is so cool! They have multiple rooms that are decorated in themes such as Paris, New York, Barcelona, etc. I took a couple pictures in the Paris room. They did our hair and makeup, we had a couple drinks and shot a couple different looks. It was so much fun! I moved to Dallas in August so I don’t know that many people. It was so nice to make some new friends! I can’t wait to see who else I meet and what other opportunities I receive through events & blogging.

I hope everyone is having a great New Year!

2019!

Oh hey, 2019!

I always say, “it’s a new year & it’s time for change” but never really strive to do so. This year I wanted to set some goals and reflect on my past year. I have been feeling a little down lately and not so much myself. I want to do more, find my purpose, and be happier in the upcoming year.

A few of my goals for 2019

  1. More self care. I feel like this helps everyone feel a little better about themselves. When you feel good about yourself, it helps you to keep striving to be the best version of yourself.
  2. Eat healthier & workout 5x a week. This is a typical New Year’s goal, but I really need this is my life. I have tried the Keto diet and I think I’m going to do it again. I’m going to try to not give up for 21 days. I also want to do 100 push-ups a week and work up to 100 a day. [I’m so out of shape #yikes]
  3. Worry less & Be happier. I am such a worrier. I let stuff get to me and sometimes allow certain things to ruin my day. I want less conflict, stress, and worry in 2019. I want to take a step back and think before I start to lose myself in things that are irrelevant.
  4. Grow closer to God. I want to pray more, read more, and turn to Him about my problems rather than my friends all the time. I also want to be better about thanking Him for all the good He blesses me with daily.
  5. Positivity. I need to be a more positive person and surround myself with like minded people.
  6. Work on my attitude and hiding my emotions. I wear my heart on my sleeve. It can be a good and bad thing. When I’m sad, mad, or happy you’re going to know bc I simply can’t hide it. The saying, “fake it until you make it” needs a little more attention this year.
  7. Figure out what I want in life. I want to find a career I love. I want to find my purpose. I want to live up to my potential. I want to be all happy!
  8. Trust. I have the hardest time trusting others. I have always had an issue with this.
  9. Tan. This isn’t a goal, but I know you all saw these pictures and thought “oh wow she needs some fake & bake!”

SO- reading that back, it sounds a tad bit depressing… But I have a lot of goals to better myself in the new year and I hope to do so!

What are your New Year goals?

I’m Back Y’all!

Hey guys!

I know it’s been about 10 years (or so it feels) since y’all have heard from me. Life gets crazy sometimes, ya know? But I’m here to fill y’all in a bit and get back to it!

I graduated college in May and decided to move to Dallas, Texas in August. To be honest, I was so excited to graduate college and start working. My family didn’t want me to move, but I insisted I be independent. I was ready to start a career, do adult things, figure out my life.. ya know like most people plan to do after college. I’m here to tell ya it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. If you’re still in school, stay there forever. Jk, well kinda, but yeah don’t rush it. I have learned so much in the last couple of months living in a big city. I took a step outside of my comfort zone, and I’m so glad I did.

I got busy and put blogging on the back burner. After taking such a big break, I started to miss it. I don’t want to give up something I enjoy. That is just another little thing I learned recently. I have had plenty of time to reflect on my life and caught myself in a lot of deep thought. Am I really just supposed to work for the rest of my life? Like what? What am I going to do? I don’t want to work a miserable job for 30 years. That sounds horrible?? All the works and I’m just not about it. I think I have said, “working just isn’t for me” about a thousand times and I’ve only been working for three months. Tragic, I know. But it’s because I don’t like what I’m doing. 9/10 people aren’t going to like their first job out of college. I need experience to get where I want to be. I may not know exactly what that is yet, but I’m working towards finding out that answer. It is what it is and it’s molding me into who I am. I truly believe you have to make your own mistakes to know exactly what you do want.

I took a job as an Energy Broker and I’ll just go ahead and say, it’s not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I am also doing some Marketing to grow a fashion brand out of New York. It is a luxury brand full of cashmere, luggage, purses, & more. I can’t spill all the details now, but I will with time so stay tuned! I am so excited about this one and what it will bring. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and love fashion, makeup and all the things so why not put it to good use!

Rocksbox – Get Your First Month Free

IMG_6965IMG_7063.JPGIMG_6997IMG_6994IMG_6995IMG_6991IMG_6996Dress: Shein Shoes: Marc Fisher (on sale!) Earrings: Rocksbox

I explained all about Rocksbox on my Insta stories a few weeks ago. [It’s saved to my Highlights] But I wanted to go in a little more detail here for you guys!

Screen Shot 2018-03-19 at 10.20.54 AM

Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription company where you can rent 3 pieces of jewelry for $21 a month. After you sign up you will add anything on their website you like to your Wish List. Your stylist will pick 3 out of all the items you put in your wish list to send to you. You then will receive an email showing the pieces that were chosen. You have the option to “swap” any of the three (or even all three) from a list of available items. The best part is, if you end up falling in love with your pieces and want to keep them, your $21 goes toward any purchase you make. If you do end up purchasing you get it on discount as well!

IMG_7013

Here are the 3 pieces I received in my first box. When I received the pink tassel earrings I knew I couldn’t send them back. I fell in love & now they are one of my favorite earrings I own. And I own a lot… The green tassel earrings are also gorgeous. The only reason I didn’t keep them is bc I have dark hair so you can’t really see them. If you are blonde, I highly recommend them! I’m really starting to love emerald green. [notice my carpet]

IMG_7010The pearl cuff is a perfect everyday piece. I love to stack my bracelets so I love how it turned out here!

I am so impressed with this company. I think it’s a great concept and I really fell in love with the jewelry! They have so much to choose from, including rings and necklaces. I know I didn’t get any this month, [I’m such a statement earring kind of girl] but maybe next month I will! Being from Texas, I have always been a big Kendra Scott kind of girl. Her new line is to die for. The great news is, you can get a lot of her pieces through Rocksbox! Don’t miss out girl, don’t miss out.

GET YOUR FIRST MONTH FREE

If you want to test it out for yourself use my code “simplicityandmoorexoxo” to get your first month FREE! Tag me in your post, I want to see all your goodies!

I can’t wait to share with y’all what I get in my box next month 🙂

My Experience with Shein

IMG_6963

Hey babes!

I wanted to share all about my experience with Shein with you guys today! I’ve recieved a lot of questions about if purchasing from them is worth it. Everyone immediately doubts if they are a ‘real’ site or not just by seeing all the really low prices. They have SO many items on their website and all things trending, too!

Pricing: Like I said above, the prices are crazy low. This is because they are knock-off items made with cheaper material. Some are amazing steals and others aren’t worth spending a $1 for. It’s really about choosing the right items, reading reviews, and taking a little chance. A lot of the items that are more expensive on the site like $18-$38 range, sometimes do seem to be the more higher quality. Mostly bc they are thicker material items like sweaters, fur vests, etc. So don’t be afraid to order something that is in that price range.

Quality: The saying, “You get what you pay for” isn’t always right with Shein. I ordered this top in my last order and it was not the best quality and also not cute on me at all. I don’t recommend. However, I got a knockoff Nordstrom sweater for $18… not a soul could tell it was different. The more you order from Shein, the more you can tell what’s going to be better quality or not. For the most part, all of my items have held up!

Sizing: Mostly everything has fit me true to size. I have only had one experience where a dress I ordered was really big and boxy. I order an XS is just about everything on Shein.

Shipping: They offer free express shipping on orders over $99. I did this on my last order and it was so worth it! I received it within 5 days. Shein always offers new deals about standard shipping, the good thing is it’s usually always free. If you aren’t placing a big order and choose standard shipping if may take 10 days or so. They are based out of China so it does take longer than your normal delivery.

Returns: I have returned a couple things to Shein that were poor quality. Under the “My Orders” tab on the website there is a link beside the items you have purchased to return. It gives you a shipping label to send back what you don’t want. It’s super easy, so don’t be afraid to purchase something you want wondering if it’s worth it or not. If it isn’t good or you don’t like it, just send it back using the return label!

I was nervous about this dress with it being white, but it’s a cotton material and so comfy! Good quality, worth the purchase for $13!!
